SURPRISE Training Schedule
HIGHLY compressed, and somewhat short notice, but I would like to begin before Star Marine is launched, and the current speculation is a release during CitizenCon, OCT 9
TL;DR Message me if you have problems with the time table, you don’t have to attend these meetings but failure to join will require training outside of the time frame in order to be eligible for further training, and don’t be a jackass.
Also, I understand work and family pressure. Just because you cannot attend these meetings, does not exclude you from participating in SURPRISE, this is merely the initial training schedule for the first wave of individuals. Any and all issues with the time table can be sent directly to myself, and we can talk about a way to get a training schedule set up that will work for you, and others in a similar situation.
Applicants in the first wave will be encouraged to assist training those in future waves, as I will not always have a training schedule up. Just understand that any, and all applicants will be evaluated by myself, regardless of who trained them.
I would also like to take the time to emphasize that this is a more professional group than some, and as such, racism, sexism, excessive political arguments, excessive religious arguments, slandering other applicants, or anything you would be ashamed to tell your mother about, will result in your immediate removal from the unit. SURPRISE is supposed to be a family, and if you attack one member of the family, you attack all of them.
I have a habit of using foul language. You have been forewarned.
Beginning SEP 30 8 PM CST
Mostly introductions among applicants, outline what SURPRISE will be training for and the purpose of SURPRISE
OCT 1 8PM CST
Basics of communication, organization of units, basics of teamwork, additional introductions, bit of time for socialization
OCT 2 Tentative 7PM CST
More advanced forms of communication, basic tactics and maneuvers, more chit chat time
Throughout OCT 3-6
I will attempt to spend time throughout the day in the Discord channel, if you see me, feel free to join in and ask any questions, make any suggestions for the next weekend, or just talk to me. I am encouraging an ‘Open Door’ policy.
OCT 7 Time To Be Determined
After the past few sessions, you will have learned the BASICS of working together as a fire team. At this point, we will begin using the PU to do walk throughs of Kareah Security Post, or maybe just Olisar, to give some visualization to the basic tactics.
I wanted to separate the communication and the gunplay sections, because when players have a gun in their hands, it becomes much more difficult to pay attention. I would really like to hammer in the communication so that it becomes natural BEFORE you have to worry about movement. A team that fails to talk, fails to win.
OCT 8 Time To Be Determined
Basic Skirmishes. And I mean basic. No shooting at first, just time to give additional depth to maneuvers against actual players. And, if we can hold Security Post Kareah for long enough, we’ll probably actually try some live fires. I will arrange for transportation from Olisar, or GrimHEX to Kareah ahead of time so we can quickly get people back into training.
I don’t know about most of you, but I’m going to be watching the Live Stream of CitizenCon. I’ll be hanging out in the Discord while I watch, so feel free to join into the channel. Hopefully, Star Marine will be released at some point during the showing, and we can all go crazy in that for a bit. If it is released, and there are enough people around, we will start hosting private games, and practice a bit more what we will have learned.
If Star Marine is not released, well, consider it a day for grieving.
FURTHER TRAINING WILL BE POSTED AS IT COMES UP
